Abusive Technology

BJ got me a Wii Fit Plus for my birthday, which is not like getting someone a gym membership for their birthday at all.

For one thing, it takes about 11 hours to burn 100 calories on a Wii Fit.

For another, your kids don't think they should be allowed to take a turn on the gym membership.

But what really sets the Wii Fit apart from a gym membership is that a gym membership won't try to humiliate you.

I can't even tell you how glad I am that BJ wasn't home when I set it up.  I put in my height, stood on the balance board and...

My Mii porked out!

And as if that weren't bad enough, the Wii Fit says that I weigh about 15 pounds more than my bathroom scale says I weigh!

I can see why people throw the controllers through the TV!

Have you got a Wii Fit?  What do you think of it?

I love mine, but I don't go by the calories... I just use it for the workouts... remember - super hulahoop, super

We have it and use it for the games, not for the weight loss. (Which is to say, we used it until we cleaned house and put the Wii away until we move into our place in MO.)

If you add someone else, the Wii Fit will ask if you have seen them and if you would encourage them to come back, too.

Are you putting the Fit board on carpet vs. the tile for your scale? That could make a difference in the numbers. We go in fits and spurts with using the thing. Now that I live with a destructive tornado of a 2 yr old, it's been put away more than it's been out.

hula hoop is a good workout though!

My favorite is the obstacle course. The strength activities are also good.

Don't worry about your mii "porking out." Just watch it get skinnier!! And supplement with the elliptical and you will get there!!!

I have one and think it is a lot of fun. I laughed when the character puffed out when it weighed me. Pretty humbling!! It is also funny when you are running and even the old people and dogs pass and look back at me.
