It was fun to read about all the details of your sister's wedding. One thing caught my eye...the caprese skewers from the cocktail hour. Are they what I'm imagining them to be? Small balls of fresh mozzarella and grape tomatoes with maybe a bit of basil on a skewer with basalmic vinegar and olive oil drizzled on top?
I love caprese salads and am hosting a bridal shower later this spring, so thought this might be a hit! Please correct me if I'm wrong...
Chicagogoebel - That is precisely what they are. I can probably hook you up with an actual recipe, but I don't think they're any more complicated than that.
Anon - I just re-read it twice, and it doesn't call Jim Megan's "father" anywhere - it refers to Denna and Jim collectively as her "parents," which is accurate.
I think I can safely say that all three of us consider our "parents" to include Denna, Bob, Jim, and Susan, as they have all had parental influences on us for most of our lives.
The divorces of the 70s, 80s, and 90s have created a lot of etiquette dilemmas for my generation to deal with, but we do our best to handle them sensitively and with tact.
I loved the article, so beautifully written! I am sure everyone will love to go back and re-read the article from time to time, and reminisce about what a phenomenal wedding it truly was. I am so glad I was there to witness it! XOXO
