Aw... Mommy's so nice to make our favorite, grilled cheese, for dinner...
...or is she?
And WOW, hot fudge sundaes!!! What a treat!
...or is it a trick?
(The sandwiches are pound cake with orange frosting inside. The sundaes are mashed potatoes with brown gravy - the "cherry" is a grape tomato. I think BJ's going to catch on pretty quickly, but the kids are going to freak out.)

You are so funny!!! Happy Day!!
I LIKE!
How did you get the coloring on the pound cake like that?
You rock!
Wow! You are beyond creative. Yes, how about that orange frosting? hmmmm. ;>)
Connie
Maria - I actually made the pound cake, and cut it thin (that was the hard part) and grilled it like I was making a grilled cheese. Then when it cooled (well, AFTER I burned myself I figured that out!) I put the icing, dyed orange, in between two pieces.
Claire cried and said, "Is not cheese!" Too hilarious!
I'm a bad mommy for thinking it was hilarious that my kid cried over cheese.
:)

That's brilliant, Amy!!
Your grilled cheeses look pretty good!
We had a totally backwards April Fools one year: Dinner for breakfast - and the dinner was backwards/fake:
Cocoa Krispies meatloaf with a jelly "ketchup" topping (looked awesome but you knew as soon as you touched it) and candy peas and diced carrots, and then "cupcakes" made of meatloaf with blue mashed potato "frosting". So the meatloaf smell was in the air, adding to the trickery of the krispies.
Then, breakfast (real) for dinner. It was awesome.
